1951 - Oldest House
Built in 1826 or 1827, the home of John H. Glover is believed to be the oldest house in the Hannon area. It was erected by the present owner's grandfather, James Glover. John's father, Henry, was born there in 1837, and John was also born there.

Born at Hannon 73 years ago, he owns 120 acres of the original land secured by his ancestors on Crown deed in 1808.

Samuel Soules, 86, has lived at Hannon for 80 years and recalls when the Great Western Railway line was built through in the 1870's.
1951 - Once Busy Hotel
Built in 1874 by a man named Young, this stone building at Hannon, was for half a century, used as a hotel, and known as the Glenfield Inn. About 25 years ago it was turned into a general store with living quarters. In recent years it has been known as Worden's Arcade. It has been bought by Norman Carlisle, nephew of Mrs. Gilbert Worden, previous owner, and is now known as Carlisle Arcade.

St. George's Church of England, at Hannon, was built in 1864 on land given by the Servos family. Land for the adjoining cemetery was given by Joseph McBride. The church is in constant use. Rector is the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Rogers.

Has a blacksmith shop close to that of brother Harry. Sixty-eight years old, he has been a blacksmith at Hannon for over 40 years. He also does woodwork.
