As you know, construction at Mount Hope Community Park is currently ongoing, and we are pleased to announce the completion in late 2017. The 1 million dollar plus project was partially funded by a generous Canada 150 Grant, which covered one-third of the project cost. Mount Hope Community Hall is being renovated to become a more accessible building, enhancing the usability and experience for the residents. It’s easy to see why this funding opportunity was not one to pass-up.

I’m excited to share that City staff has committed to having a fully operational spray pad and new playground equipment at the park for Spring/early Summer 2018. I’m continuing to receive updates from staff and am confident that the improvements coming to the park will be worth the wait.

Even though there have been some adjustments to the schedule, these changes have been made with purpose. The intention is to accommodate all of the projects and maximize the amount of supplementary funding we are eligible for. We want to ensure the community has a safe, accessible, and pleasant area to meet and enjoy. I’m really looking forward to the completion of the work at Mount Hope Community Park – I think it will be a true centrepiece for our community. Stay tuned for grand opening celebration dates during early Summer 2018!
